Terms & Conditions

Terms & Conditions

By placing a booking it is deemed that the customer has read, understood, fully agreed to and is bound by all our terms.

Your booking is not confirmed until we have received your deposit.


Payment terms

All hires are subject to a deposit, unless otherwise agreed in writing. The deposit amount will be based on the value of the event.

Please note, if your event is within 21 days, the full balance will be due to confirm the event booking.

By paying a deposit or any funds to Shetland Sound & Light it means that you have read, agree and fully understand our terms & conditions listed below.

If you have a query relating to our terms & conditions, please let us know before making payment.


Cancellations

Once a deposit has been paid, any event cancellation would mean the deposit being retained by Shetland Sound & Light, however no new deposit would be required if the date of the booking was to be rearranged (subject to that date being available).


Equipment

Shetland Sound & Light are responsible for all PAT testing on its equipment. If the venue requires a copy of the PAT testing certificate we will provide this.

Shetland Sound & Light reserves the right to substitute hired equipment with equipment of a similar type and value without notice in the event of previous damage or loss of booked equipment.

All sizes quoted are approximate.

Clients are asked not to move equipment once it has been setup.


Photo Booth

The software we use with the photo booth locks the screen with a pin number to prevent access. If the pin number is entered incorrectly a time delay is activated & the more times the incorrect pin in entered the longer the time delay. This can accumulate to sometimes over an hour. If we have to attend your event to reset the pin there will be a £50 fee.

Children should not be left unsupervised with the photo booth.


Delivery, Site Location, Facilities & Conduct

Delivery within a twenty mile radius of Weisdale is included in the hire price of large items. Delivery outside of the twenty mile radius is priced at twenty five pence per mile each way. Ferry fares to the outer isles are not included in this price and charged accordingly.

The equipment is to be setup by Shetland Sound & Light staff only and must not be moved once the equipment is setup.

Due to the nature of live music there may be various cables and wires across the stage belonging to us and band members. Anyone entering the stage area does so at their own risk.

Please ensure that you have obtained permission at your venue to use our equipment.

Please let us know if there are any special requirements prior to the day of the setup. For example specific things we should know about the venue, where the equipment is going to be setup, any uneven surfaces, heights or restricted access.

It's the Hirers responsibility to check that any equipment hired fits in the venue of choice. 

Shetland Sound & Light reserve the right to remove equipment from the venue if it is felt that the equipment could be compromised or damaged by patrons.  


Liability 

The client agrees to cover the company for any damages or theft of the company’s equipment whilst on hire.

Shetland Sound & Light accepts no liability for any damage or loss of personal property and or any injury arising from the use of the hired equipment. This is not limited to your guests.

Our Public Liability Insurance policy covers up to £10,000,000. If you or your venue require a copy of this please let us know.

Children should not be left unattended with any equipment.

Shetland Sound & Light cannot be held responsible for any circumstances that may prevent us from attending your event; these may include but are not limited to severe weather conditions, traffic delays, breakdown of our vehicles, sickness or equipment failure. In the case that we cannot attend or fulfil your hire due to events beyond our control, we will contact you or the venue as soon as possible. In these instances, our liability will be limited to refunding all of any monies paid.


Sales & Installations

All goods remain the property of Shetland Sound Light at all times until payed for in full.
