Terms & Conditions
Your booking is not confirmed until we have received your deposit.
By placing an order with us it is deemed that the customer has read, understood, fully agreed to and is bound by all our terms.
Payment terms:
All hires are subject to a deposit, unless otherwise agreed in writing (deposit is non-refundable). The deposit amount will be based on the value of the event.
Please note, if your event is within 21 days, the full balance is due to confirm the event booking.
By paying the deposit or any funds to Shetland Sound & Light this means that you have read, agree and fully understand our terms & conditions listed below.
If you have a query relating to our terms & conditions, please let us know before making payment.
Cancellations
If the booking is cancelled more than 21 days before the event date only (the deposit) will be retained by Shetland Sound & Light, however no new deposit would be required if the date was to be changed (subject to that date being available).
If the booking is cancelled within 21 days of the event date 100% of the balance will be retained.
Equipment
Shetland Sound & Light are responsible for all PAT testing on its equipment. If the venue requires a copy of the PAT testing certificate we will provide this.
Shetland Sound & Light reserves the right to substitute hired equipment with equipment of a similar type and value without notice in the event of previous damage or loss of booked equipment.
All sizes quoted are approximate.
All goods remain the property of Shetland Sound Light at all times.
Clients are asked not to move equipment around the venue.
Delivery, Site Location, Facilities & Conduct
Delivery within a twenty mile radius of Weisdale is included in the hire price of large items. Delivery outside of the twenty mile radius is priced at twenty five pence per mile each way. Ferry fares to the outer isles are not included in this price.
The equipment is to be setup by Shetland Sound & Light staff only and must not be moved once the equipment is setup.
Please ensure that you have obtained permission at your venue to use our equipment.
Please let us know if there are any special requirements prior to the day of the setup. For example specific things we should know about the venue, where the equipment is going to be setup, any uneven surfaces, heights or restricted access.
It's the Hirers responsibility to check that any equipment hired fits in the venue of choice.
Shetland Sound & Light reserve the right to remove equipment from the venue if it is felt that the equipment could be compromised or damaged by patrons.
Liability
The client agrees to cover the company for any damage or theft of the company’s equipment whilst on hire.
Shetland Sound & Light accepts no liability for any damage or loss of personal property and or any injury arising from the use of the hired equipment. This is not limited to your guests.
Our Public Liability Insurance policy covers up to £10,000,000. If you or your venue require a copy of this please let us know.
Shetland Sound & Light cannot be held responsible for any circumstances that may prevent us from attending your event; these may include but are not limited to severe weather conditions, traffic delays, breakdown of our vehicles, sickness or equipment failure. In the case that we cannot attend or fulfil your hire due to events beyond our control, we will contact you or the venue as soon as possible. In these instances, our liability will be limited to refunding all of the monies paid.
